HANGARTFEST is a contemporary dance festival addressed to new generations of choreographers and performers with the aim of giving them visibility and promoting the new languages of the scene.
Its proposals range from shows in conventional places to urban dance and performance, from installations to video, from conferences to workshops. In the last years the festival takes place at the Saint Magdalene's Church (Vanvitelli, 18th Century).
Hangartfest is supported since 2018 by the Italian Ministry of Culture, the Regione Marche and the Municipality of Pesaro.
On 2018 the festival receives the recognition European Year of Cultural Heritage promoted by the European Union.
Partners of the festival are Proartis (Pesaro IT), Atelier Danza Hangart (Pesaro IT) and AMAT (Ancona IT).
On 2015 the partners were: Sanafest (Norway), Highs & Lows (4Bid Gallery, Amsterdam NL), Caressez le Potager (Marseille FR).
On 2014 the festival collaborates with LEMS Laboratory of Electronic Music Department of the Rossini Conservatory of Music in Pesaro and with Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London.
With "The Art of Improvisation" Hangartfest takes part in the project REFRESH! Lo Spettacolo delle Marche per le Nuove Generazioni, by the CMS Consorzio Marche Spettacolo, with Proartis, Teatro Aenigma (Urbino) and Associazione Nuovo Cinema Italia (Macerata).
Hangartfest is among the co-founders of the network Ortopolis_arti in rete (2013), and houses students from the University of Urbino (since 2014) and from the University Ca' Foscari of Venezia (since 2018).
